For some reason, Luigi bought ketchup during his last trip to the grocery store. And for some reason he also bought potatoes. With this obvious suggestion on the table, I set about making french fries for the first time!
I used a pretty basic recipe from Epicurious, but ignored the dips that went with it and just followed the part for roasting the potatoes (they weren’t actually fried but rather partially boiled and then baked). So with just the potatoes, salt and oil – olive oil instead of vegetable – in about an hour we had a special salty dish to go with our Sunday dinner of lemon rosemary chicken.
I was happy with how the fries turned out and it was a fun new recipe to try but also a bit dangerous because of how delicious they were!
